THERAPEUTIC APPROACHES
ABOUT US
Clinicians at Cairn Counseling have experience working with many individuals, including couples, families, children, teens, adults, people of color (POC), and lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and queer folks.
Our therapists use a variety of methods, suited to the individual, to treat trauma, substance use disorder, and work through life-changes. Some of these methods include:
Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) - this therapy focuses on helping clients construct solutions by setting goals. It is typically conducted through observation of the client’s responses to a series of precise questions.
Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Narrative Therapy
Play Therapy
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) - EDMR therapy focuses on the changing emotions, thoughts or behaviors that result from trauma. According to the Cleveland Clinic, this technique can help a person through their trauma faster than other traditional methods.
